You will find plenty of reasons to visit Albania here, but this is not a tourism-board brochure. The goal is to offer useful information without pretending that every part of traveling or living in Albania is effortless.
Who Is Behind Exit to Albania?
I’m Natalie, the founder and editor of Exit to Albania.
I have spent 9 years living abroad across 7 countries, including several years in Dubai. That experience has taught me how many details traditional travel guides leave out, especially when you are trying to do more than take a short holiday.
My background includes content creation, design and digital user experience. I use those skills to make complicated topics easier to understand and turn scattered information into practical guides.
Much of the photography on Exit to Albania comes from my own travels and exploration throughout Albania. I also draw on personal experience, conversations with local businesses and residents, reader contributions, official sources and continued research.
Why I Created Exit to Albania
When I started researching Albania, I noticed a gap between the country people described online and the more complicated place I encountered on the ground.

How I Research Exit to Albania
Exit to Albania combines firsthand exploration with practical research.
Much of the site begins on the ground. I visit destinations, photograph places, observe how transportation and services work, compare options and note the small details that are often missing from conventional travel guides.
Approximately 80% of the articles on Exit to Albania include photographs taken during my own travels and exploration of the country. When a subject is difficult or impossible to photograph personally, such as a seasonal landscape outside the period of my visit, I may use properly licensed or credited imagery.
